Passion plays and Mystery plays are an excellent way to entertain city and town communities. They have also been called morality plays, because they teach truth and morality for living through drama.

WHY IT WORKS
- The audience are entertained under the banner of theatre.
- Apart from moral and spiritual aspects, audiences are moved and educated by dramatically told stories relevant to their everyday lives; stories that are still being told after two thousand years.
- A volunteer cast can be from 10-500. All are impacted in some form or another.
In the journey together they discover new talents and skills, and they also help their community by staging a free event for their neighbours. - It unifies communities and churches. All walks of life come forward to volunteer their help. This brings together denominations and communities that may have never had a relationship before.
- UK local councils like them, because as a community event they tend to attract more volunteers than many other events. Apart from the benefit to local citizens, it brings tourism and culture. The plays are often repeated annually when the benefits become apparent.
